England press conference and basically saying he wants out.
We all know it would happen but timing isn't great considering our form.
Sounds to me that a deal has been in place for this to be his last season and the spend up in the summer was in preparation for his departure.
To be fair, he deserves every bit of success in his club career and for his country. Would always get a warm welcome back from me, however I can't help but feel he is developing a big big ego and since having the captains armband he hasn't been the same player.

Re: 200k a week.
With all these huge transfer fees/wages being bandied about so freely in the press/media, is it any wonder that scumbags feel it worth the risk to rob these players (houses)?

"With the amount of money spent this summer, this was the year to push on."

as usual with West Ham, its a case of the Stable Door being closed with the Horse having bolted. Last January yada yada yada......

A good proportion of very bright people have atrocious spelling, and less than perfect grammar.

And most of them don't have the bad influence of WHO to blame.

I'm surprised and thankful he has remained as long as he has.

With the amount of money spent this summer, this was the year to push on.

I reckon he wouldn't be thinking of leaving had we done so.

If he goes to Chelsea, Liverpool or Manchester United I would be disgusted. I wouldn't mind if he goes to Manchester City or Real Madrid though.

Understand Mount's contract runs to 2024
Could be for sale in the summer at a reduced rate with a year left

Maybe .... Liverpool would be interested in him which would also attract Rice to select them
Add in Bellingham on a buyout fee (is that right?) & theyve refreshed their team

Could be worse, they might offer us Nunez, the New Andy Carroll.

Fair play to Declan.

My opinion for a long while is that he'll be staying at the club. Hopefully like his role model Noble.

The difference is, Noble was too loyal to play the art of negotiation and had a long career with wages that never went over £50k per week.

Declan should play the game, make the owners sweat and get a contract from West Ham worthy of his qualities.

Knowing us we’ll sell him to Liverpool, they’ll give us Henderson, Gomez and a packet of crisps

Re: Rice comments
I see his pal Mount has rejected a 200 grand a week offer from Chelsea. No doubt these bums will offer a fee for Rice well short of our valuation. We shouldn't make it easy for our captain to get his desired destination just because he wants to return there.
I think Man City and Liverpool will want him, so the highest offer should dictate where he ends up.

Hahahaha, Quite correct my use of written English is pretty fucked at times!

But you seem to have missed the point? In my opinion players are not signalling or talking in riddles as to the next move every time they get interviewed its some fans who seem to interpret every word or sentence and then come up with it.

If that make me a bit thick in your opinion then so be it………..

Sell Rice, sack Moyes asap, give the fee in full for the new manager to sign 2 or 3 players and let the players be the managers decision alone !

Man City won't pay for overpriced English players

Huh?!? They literally have the record?

Re: Rice comments
I don't think there is anything new in his comments - to be honest tournaments and meeting up with the England team have for a long time caused issues and turned heads when players realise what they could get elsewhere and who they can be buddies with.
There is no surprise. He has said it before - it's a kind of 'come and get me' plea to what he perceives as a 'big' club. I think Chelsea will go to shit under this American who really want to sign big names with no idea about how they fit in a team.
Man Utd are in a mess, Man City won't pay for overpriced English players - They already got Phillips much cheaper. Arsenal don't have the money.
I get the impression he'd love Real Madrid but they are broke and his valuation would have to come right down.

Re: Rice comments
To be fair, your second sentence could do with some work. It's too long. A comma between 'club' and 'or' would be a good start, though I still wouldn't like the cut of its jib.

Re: Rice comments
It always amazes me that people can read so much into what players say or sometimes don’t say! You would think being a professional footballer also entails the ability to somehow subtly or cryptically let people know there intentions about leaving or staying at whatever club or issuing a come and get me?

There footballers FFS not Nostradamus type people talking in riddles, and good portion are not that bright or clever either.

___

It's a bit rich of you to be calling out footballers for being a bit thick when you don't even know the difference between 'there', 'their' and 'they're' and their correct use. I even used a correct use of one of them in my sentence above as a bit of guidance, haha.

Re: Rice comments
Without a newly signed contract he will have to be sold in the summer.
Suspect others will be interested and maybe offer more but he will decide he wants to be at Chelsea so we will be reliant on the team that paid £60m for Cucurella to offer a reasonable fee.

SurfaceAgentX2Zero 11:45 Sat Dec 3
Re: Rice comments
The quality of Declan's performances this season have dropped a little bit. His transfer value may have dropped a bit, too.

In retrospect the club probably should have sold him in the summer to give them more money to waste on ineffective replacements.

Re: Rice comments
Agree with Ironside
Rice is being a bit naive answering these questions ... presumably honestly
During the World Cup the simple answer is .... I am 100% concentrated on England right now
When he comes back to us ... I am 100% concentrated on West Ham doing better this season

Journalist will ask a question to get a headline and by answering like this he has guaranteed that he will be asked about it EVERY time he is interviewed.
